The Neuroscience of Change | How our brains deal with change and what to do about it
September 2 @ 7:30 am - 8:30 amA$10.00
What it’s about:
“The Only Constant in Life Is Change.”- Heraclitus (535 – 475 BCE)
As Greek philosopher Heraclitus reminds us, change is nothing new. What is new is the nature, complexity and pace of change and we know that it’s not going to slow down – so hang on to your hats!
In the past 18 months we have had to react to changing circumstances at an unprecedented pace leaving many change weary, sceptical and jaded…and that’s just the change leaders! Jokes aside, it takes effort and energy as change leaders to stay on top of your game when finding ways to bring your people with you on the change journey. And this is compounded by Gartner’s recent global talent monitor report revealing that many are actively looking for new jobs, because of exhaustion and lack of engagement and inclusion as the key drivers.
To almost quote leadership coach Marshal Goldsmith, “What got you here might not get you there”.
Knowing how our brains process change can provide us with deep insights into human behaviour, motivation and engagement and unlock strategies for dealing with change in more human centred, empathic and effective ways.
What we will cover:
In this upcoming interactive session we will:

- Explore how we are programmed from evolution to deal with change
- Learn key predictable dynamics of human change that help set perspective and key functions of the brain that are involved in change
- Uncover the core social needs and conditions required in any successfully change environment
- How to apply our knowledge and a human-centred approach to effective leadership
